Our new flexible 2747 siatur silicon carbide series
Available since February 1, 2005, our new flexible 2747 siatur silicon carbide series ensures high quality grinding of brass, soft bronze and copper alloys. This series was developed especially to meet the needs of the fittings industry.
Benefits:
High cut rate
Cool cut (with grinding aids), virtually no discoloration of workpieces
Excellent surface quality of machined workpieces
Easily conforms to curved and contoured surfaces
Designed for hand or robot grinding, 2747 siatur with its new tear-resistant cotton backing withstands the toughest wear and conforms to the smallest contour. With grinding aids incorporated for a longer life, 2747 siatur outlasts competing products. And our unique grain coating technology provides a more aggressive cut.
Application of 2747 siatur for grinding fittings
A typical application of 2747 siatur is coarse grinding to remove casting scale from precision castings. Then the parts are usually finely ground in a 10 – 14 hour vibratory process to produce a consistently fine finish. Before the surface finishing operation, such as chrome plating, satin finishing or powder coating, the workpiece is given the proverbial “finishing touches” with #320 or #400 grit 2747 siatur.
Machining process
Customers who do not have a vibratory finishing machine should use 2747 siatur, selecting an optimal series of grits for all steps from removing casting scale through to the final finish. Whether you’re making fittings or musical instruments, 2747siatur is the key to producing a high quality attractive finish.
