sia Abrasives has been successfully present in the Australian market for years with its own Group Company. In order to expand its activities in this growing market, the Group Management of sia Abrasives Holding AG has decided to acquire the Australian Industrial Abrasives Group (AIA). AIA, headquartered in Sydney, has over 80 employees and has been active in all important regions of Australia and New Zealand for more than thirty years.
With offices and warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, the AIA Group is a major supplier of abrasives and related products to the Australian and New Zealand markets. AIA is a specialist in metal and stainless steel finishing and therefore provides the sia Group with an excellent fit. The new sia Group Company has a high level of technological excellence in its markets. AIA’s conversion plants allow a high service level in terms of quality and just-in-time deliveries for its customers. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
