Roland Eberle, Swiss (born 1953), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the sia Group since 1 January 2007. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kartause Ittingen Foundation, of which he has been Chairman since 1 January 2008. Roland Eberle graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in 1983 with a degree in engineering, specialising in agricultural economics. After working briefly as an assistant at the ETH Institute of Agricultural Economics, he moved on in 1984 to manage the Thurgau Farmers’ Union. In 1994, he took office as a member of the Thurgau cantonal government, initially heading the Department of Justice and Security. In 2000, he took over the Department of Finance and Social Services, which he handed over to his successor in 2006 after serving a term as President of the cantonal government.
Donat Frei, Swiss (born 1954), Chief Operations Officer since 2002 and simultaneously responsible for the sia Group’s research and development. He also serves as the management representative for quality, environment and occupational health and safety. Donat Frei graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in 1976 with a degree in chemistry (process engineering). Since joining the sia Group in 1977, he has held several positions within the organisation, first as development manager for ART/wood/panel applications, then transferring to the marketing department as head of product management and application engineering. In 1996, he was appointed responsible for the research and development department, additionally assuming responsibility for the jumbo roll manufacturing department in 1999. During 2001, he served as General Manager of sia Abrasives Industries AG.
Kurt Lehmann, Swiss (born 1958), Chief Marketing Officer of the sia Group since 1995, also serving as Deputy General Manager of sia Abrasives Industries AG since October 2004. Kurt Lehmann graduated in business administration from the School of Economics and Business Administration in 1981 and qualified as a federal certified marketing manager in 1989. From 1981 to 1990, he held various sales and marketing positions within the sia Group. Moving on in 1990, he spent three years with Hayek Engineering AG as project manager before rejoining the sia Group in 1993. In 1995, after completing a major project, he assumed responsibility for marketing and sales.
Beat Stäheli, Swiss (born 1956), Chief Financial and Human Resources Officer of the sia Group since 1 April 2009. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Company’s pension fund. Beat Stäheli completed his in-service training in 1984, qualifying as a certified management accountant. After holding various finance positions within the Group from 1977 to 1999, he was appointed responsible for Finance and Human Resources in sia Abrasives Industries AG in 1999 and additionally for Human Resources throughout the sia Group in 2007.
Georg Vock, Swiss (born 1964), Chief Sales and Logistics Officer of the sia Group since 1 January 2007. He joined sia Abrasives as a business apprentice in 1980, later performing various functions within the Group in Switzerland and abroad. He completed his in-service training as a certified sales coordinator in 1987 and qualified as a certified sales manager in 1996. In 1989, Georg Vock moved on to manage Trio Personal for four and a half years. Rejoining the sia Group in 1993, he was in charge of the South American market, laying the foundation for the sia Group companies in Brazil and Mexico. He assumed responsibility for worldwide sales in 1997 and additionally for all marketing application areas in 1998.
